Edward Walters, an auto mechanic, falls for the intelligent and beautiful Catherine Boyd. It is love at first sight. There is however a problem, she's engaged to jerk James Moreland. Fortunately, Catherine's uncle likes Ed, and with his friends they scheme to make Catherine fall for Ed. The comedy in this movie stems from the fact that Catherine's uncle is none other than Albert Einstein, who's portrayed as a fun loving genius, as are his mischievous colleagues, Nathan, Kurt and Boris.

The life of plants and animals of the rainforest is under the deadly threat: bulldozers and other human machines are destroying trees and all tropical inhabitants. The other threat is that the evil spirit named Hexxus (voiced by Tim Curry) will be released if an old tree where he was confined long ago, will be injured by the bulldozers. Forest animals and mystic creatures should stop the felling: Krysta (voiced by Samantha Mathis), Pips (voiced by Christian Slater), Beetle Boys and Zak (Jonathan Ward) should prevent the forest from extinction. Zak is a human, who initially worked at the felling, but later he sworn to defend the beauty of the forest.

Elmo is now on his own. All the people from Sesame Street come to Grouchland to get Elmo back.

They have to fight an evil wildebeest called Kazar (William Shatner). But Kazar's safe compared to the other danger on the island- a volcano that's on the edge of eruption. Can the animals find Ryan and get out of Africa before the volcano erupts in so little time?
Alonzo Hawk is a mean-spirited property developer who has bought several blocks of land in the downtown district in order to build a gigantic shopping mall. There is one problem however; an elderly widow named Steinmetz won't sell the one remaining lot that Hawk needs to proceed with his scheme. So he resorts to all manner of chicanery, legal or otherwise, to get it. Fortunately, the widow Steinmetz has an ace up her sleeve in the form of Herbie, the miraculous Volkswagen.
