Stepsiblings Kathryn Merteuil (Sarah Michelle Gellar) and Sebastian Valmont (Ryan Phillippe) are wealthy prep school students and unscrupulous, manipulative socialites who have only a few things on their minds: how to satisfy their vicious desires, who to take revenge on and who else to choose as a sexual and emotional toy. When the lady-killing self-confident Sebastian and the cynical seductive Kathryn playing fast and loose with their peers' affections get bored with stale intrigue plots and banal declarations of love, they devise an ingenious heinous plan. Sebastian's challenge is to seduce the new headmaster's daughter, the virginal Annette Hargrove (Reese Witherspoon). The calculating Kathryn makes a wager. Luther Whitney is a professional thief, who only works occasionally. He is planning what is suppose to be his last job, and everything is going smoothly until some come in before he can leave. He hides in a secret room and from behind a one-way mirror sees that it's the wife of the owner of the house he is robbing and another man. They are fooling around when the guy decides to liven things up by striking her, she get away but he corners her, she then grabs a letter opener and is about to stab him when he cries out for help when two men come in and shoot her dead. It seems that the man is Alan Richmond, the President of the United States and the two men are the secret service agents assigned to him. Later, a woman, Gloria Russell, who is his Chief of Staff enters and upon learning of what has happened, decides to cover it up and make it appear that she was killed by a burglar. After sanitizing the room, they are about to leave but they forget the letter opener, Whitney comes out of the room and takes it and makes his getaway but when they returned for the letter opener they discover Whitney and chase him but he gets away. The police investigate the murder and there are so many inconsistencies, which makes the investigator, Seth Frank suspect that something is going on. Frank then discovers that Whitney is a possible suspect but the only thing is that he doesn't believe that Whitney is a killer. Whitney tries to leave town but when he learns just how corrupt and amoral Richmond is he decides to play mind games with him and the others. Richmond, at the same time, tells them that Whitney must be silenced permanently. |

Cameron Poe is an Army Ranger who was going to go home to his pregnant wife when he got into a fight with three men. He would kill one of them and the other two ran away with the knife they had and because of that he would be convicted of manslaughter. After eight years he would be paroled. He would be part of a group that's being transferred to another prison and flown in a special plane. While in flight a fight breaks out and two of the most dangerous criminals, Diamond Dog and Cyrus the Virus Grissom, would break out from their restraints and take over the plane. When the plane makes it's first stop Poe and friend who's a diabetic and who wasn't given his shot, and all the syringes were destroyed, try to get off but Grissom wouldn't let them. He then tries to alert the authorities but got away. Now the government is considering shooting the plane down but U.S. Marshall Vince Larkin thinks that it's a little hasty and believes that Poe is an ally. When Grissom leads them on a wild goose chase, Poe alerts them to where they are going. |

Eli Roth's horror movie goes straight for the jugular in this unrelenting scare-fest about a pair of libidinous American fellows seeking for cheap pleasures in the European countryside. Their carefree college days close behind and Paxton (Jay Hernandez) and Josh (Derek Richardson) strap on their backpacks and prepare for get some booze, babes, and drugs, on their way across the globe. In Amsterdam they meet up with an Icelandic backpacker Oli (Eythor Gudjonsson). Backpacking across Europe guys are lured to a Slovakian hostel, where they uncover grisly and sinister acts taking place. The point is that the Slovakian city they stopped at has its male population dwindled as a result of a civil strife - leaving the ladies ready and willing to accept any male companionship that might turn up at the local hostel. Everything seems fine until the fellows find themselves caught up in a sick murder-for-profit business where businessman pay to kill innocent victims. |

A team of research scientists in the off-shore laboratory Aquatica are running experiments on sharks, trying to find a cure for Alzheimer's disease. Unbeknownst to her colleagues, Dr. Susan McAlester (Saffron Burrows), whose father suffered from this fatal illness, breaks ethical codes, genetically re-engineering the DNA of mako sharks to increase the brain size and obtain more cancer-battling enzymes. Unfortunately, the experiment also makes the sharks larger, stronger, more intelligent and aggressive. When financial backer Russell Franklin (Samuel L.Jackson), who is skeptical about the tests, threatens to close down the project, the team performs a demonstration experiment removing brain tissue from the largest shark. The test is successful, but then things go wayward: the shark subject unexpectedly awakes and tears Jim Whitlock's (Stellan Skarsgеrd) arm off. The scientists call a rescue helicopter but it crashes into the station during a tropical storm. The newly smart killer-sharks decide to make the most of the situation and sink the station in order to escape into the sea.

After losing their payload the ramshackle, sinking, ocean-going salvage tug "Sea Star" takes refuge in the eye of a typhoon in an attempt to make repairs. Whilst trying to find help the tug, captained by Robert Everton ('Donald Sutherland' (qv)), discovers a Russian science vessel adrift in the eye. The crew believes their troubles are over and they are set for life when the captain informs them of the value of salvaging this apparent ghost-ship. However, the navigator Kit Foster ('Jamie Lee Curtis' (qv)) and the chief engineer Steve Baker ('William Baldwin' (qv)) are not convinced that it will be that easy. Once power is restored to the ship strange things start to happen and the crew mysteriously disappear one by one. It isn't until the discovery of the last remaining Russian crew member, the chief science officer Nadia Vinogradiya ('Joanna Pacula' (qv)), that the crew realise the enemy ranged against them isn't the Russians but something far more malevolent... |
