After Zeus fights and sends the Titans to the underworld, he becomes the ruler of Mount Olympus, home of all greek gods. Hades is sent to rule the underworld, but he makes plans to throw Zeus out of Mount Olympus with the Titans' help. The three Fates warn him that his plans would be endangered if Hercules, Zeus newborn child, is still around by the time he tries to take over Mount Olympus. Hades sends Pain and Panic to turn Hercules into a mortal and kill him, but they fail in their attempt and leave him on earth with his divine strength to be raised as a human. Hercules grows up but later learns he is the son of gods, and in order to return to Mt. Olympus he must turn into a "true hero". He is trained by Phil the satyr and becomes the most famous hero in ancient Greece after battling monsters of all kinds. He even saves Mt. Olympus from Hade's take-over, but he only becomes a god again after he offers to exchange his life in order to save Meg, his love, from Hades' underworld and shows that a true hero must have a strong heart and not only physical strength. |

When Agent 009 turns up dead at the British Embassy in Berlin holding a Russian Faberge egg, 007 is called in to investigate. He soon finds out that the egg is being sought by a collector named Kamal Khan (Jordan), who is in league with a psychopathic Soviet general, Orlov (Steven Berkhoff) who is hell-bent on Soviet domination despite reprimands from his superiors. Orlov's plan involves smuggling an atomic bomb into a U.S. Air Force Base in West Germany, in the hopes of crippling the country and leaving it an easy target for Soviet conquest. Bond's investigation of Khan leads him to India, where he meets a mysterious woman named 'Octopussy' who is connected to Khan. The bomb is smuggled aboard a circus train, and one of the men helping Kamal & Orlov is the man responsible for killing 009! Bond must race against time to stop the bomb from exploding & killing thousands, then running down Kamal Khan before he escapes! |

Dr. Evil returns from space just as British spy Austin Powers learns on his honeymoon that his wife is a fembot in Evil's control. Back on the singles scene, Powers discovers he's impotent because Evil has used a time machine to return to the late 60s and steal his libido. British intelligence also has a time portal, so Powers goes back to 1969 to recapture his mojo and, teaming with agent Felicity Shagwell, to stop another Evil plot to take over the world, this time with a "laser" beamed from the moon. Feeling isolated and distressed, Marie Antoinette tried to find consolation in the decadence of the French aristocracy and in a secret liaison with Swedish Count Fersen (Jamie Dornan). Her short-run popularity as a spouse of King Louis XVI gave place to a public censure for her frivolous and eccentric behaviour during the celebrations which she held at the palace of Versailles. Marie Antoinette braved the French Revolution and bore herself with dignity. Her close connections with Austria and support for a foreign intervention were so apparent that she was stripped of her riches, imprisoned and sentenced to death. Various attempts to get her out failed. On October 16, 1793, Marie Antoinette was charged with treason and espionage for other countries, and was executed by guillotine. |

Sylvia Broome (Nicole Kidman) is an interpreter. She is an expert in the obscure language of Ku, a dialect of the African Matobo, her homeland. Unintentionally she overhears a talk on Ku, where the deadly plot against the country ruler was mentioned. The life of Zuwanie (Earl Cameron), Matobo's controversial ruler, is under the treat, so as Sylvia's life. Realizing she's become a target of the assassins as well, Silvia is desperate to thwart the plot... if only she can survive long enough to get someone to believe her. Secret Service agent Tobin Keller (Sean Penn) is brought in to investigate Broome's story, and it isn't long before he's convinced that she knows more than she's willing to tell. Keller has his doubts. Is Silvia a witness or is she somehow connected to the threat against the African head of state? "The Interpreter" is a cat and mouse game with a few of the involved parties appearing to change sides throughout the process. Sometimes you should pay close attention in order to keep up with the plot (you can miss a key detail being away for a tea watching this film). |
