In this obscure and Gothic tale, adapted from David Lloyd's graphic novel, one attractive girl, Evey gets involved accidentally in a terrorist attack, perpetrated by a masked and megalomaniac character, V. V is following the same steps of Guy Fawkes, a sort of terrorist of the XVII century, who wanted to blow up the English Parlament in London. However, in the present time, the Orwellian London lives under the fascist government of chancellor Adam, and V will fight against his regime, using the power of powder, blowing up important buildings. Evey will be chased by the secret police, thinking that she's the accomplice of V, who will accomplish Fawkes' mission of destroying the Parlament on the 5th of November, in this mixture of The Phantom of the Opera, George Orwell's 1984 and Batman. |

Two mid-aged divorcees Jeremy Klein (Vince Vaughn) and John Beckwith (Owen Wilson) are a pair of longtime friends who work for a law firm, helping contentious couples mediate their divorces, continuously crashing weddings to meet girls. They can get into any wedding and into the heart of every bridesmaid, for one night, of course. Suddenly one of them falls for Claire, also a bridesmaid, who is a daughter of an influential and eccentric politician, and soon guys get into spending a wild weekend at the family's palatial waterside estate and find themselves quickly over their heads. |

Nicholas Oseransky (Matthew Perry) is a nice, mild-mannered, a bit naive guy living in peaceful suburban Montreal and working as a dentist. Oz, as his buddies call him, is unhappily married to a nymphomaniac woman, Sophie (Rosanna Arquette), who is sick and tired of him. If he divorced his wife, he would be poor as a church mouse.
One day a famous hitman from Chicago, Jimmy "The Tulip" Tudeski (Bruce Willis), moves in next door under the assumed name of "Jimmy Jones" to make a new start. But his "hope" doesn't come true. When Sophie learns of Jimmy's true identity, she forces Nicholas to go to Chicago and sell the hitman's whereabouts to the dangerous mobsters he ratted out. Moreover, the greedy Sophie decides to kill two birds with one stone: she presses Jimmy to finish her husband off so that she can get the life insurance money...

Everyone knows that police detective John Shaft (Samuel L. Jackson) is the toughest and smartest cop in New York City. He is one of those people who are ready to work themselves to the bone to fight for justice. This time Shaft is out to put away a spoiled preppie, Walter Wade (Christian Bale), who killed a young black student. Shaft arrests the perpetrator but he is soon set free on 200-thousand dollars bail and escapes to Switzerland. Two years later, Wade secretly returns to the United States and gets a bust. When Wade's father (Philip Bosco), a wealthy tycoon, posts a million dollars bail for his son once again, Shaft throws his badge and leaves police to lead his personal vendetta against Wade. Teamed up with his eye-catching fellow detective Carmen Vasquez (Vanessa L. Williams), Shaft must find barmaid Diane Palmieri (Toni Collette), who was an eye witness to the racially-motivated murder. Meanwhile, Wade asks his cellmate Peoples Hernandez (Jeffrey Wright), a Dominican drug lord, to kill the only witness of his crime. Hernandez, in his turn, gives a graft to two corrupt officers to find the girl. |
