Some Arabs hijack an airliner and demand the release of their leader who is in American custody. They also intend to land in Washington for refueling. Everybody is sure that the President manages to escape from the plane in an emergency capsule. However, Marshall, a combat hero in the Vietnam War, considers it to be his duty to stay on board to rescue the hostages and regain control of the plane.
