Bond's new foe is Elliot Carver (Jonathan Pryce), just another super-villain craving for the domination over the world; he is to be defeated by the valiant Agent 007. Carver is a powerful media-tycoon who never has to search for the news because he always used to make them. Pierce Brosnan incarnates the Superspy again after his successful debut as Bond in "007: The Golden Eye"; the movie "Tomorrow never dies" keeps the tradition of involving the most intricate spy gadjets and contemporary defense technologies along with the most beautiful actresses participation (in this series, action star Michelle Yeoh, who has the "Miss Malaysia" title). Bond is to prevent the Third World War which looms closer and closer as Carver weaves his devilish plot to embroil the world's superpowers with each other using PR technologies and crimninal talents of his ally called Mr. Stamper (Gotz Otto).
The soundtrack of "Tomorrow Never Dies" is the song of the same name, brilliantly performed by Sheryl Crow, who also is an author of this heartfelt hit.

1878 in New Mexico: John Tunstall picks up young gun men from the road to have them work on his ranch, but also to teach them reading and to civilize them. Cameron Poe is an Army Ranger who was going to go home to his pregnant wife when he got into a fight with three men. He would kill one of them and the other two ran away with the knife they had and because of that he would be convicted of manslaughter. After eight years he would be paroled. He would be part of a group that's being transferred to another prison and flown in a special plane. While in flight a fight breaks out and two of the most dangerous criminals, Diamond Dog and Cyrus the Virus Grissom, would break out from their restraints and take over the plane. When the plane makes it's first stop Poe and friend who's a diabetic and who wasn't given his shot, and all the syringes were destroyed, try to get off but Grissom wouldn't let them. He then tries to alert the authorities but got away. Now the government is considering shooting the plane down but U.S. Marshall Vince Larkin thinks that it's a little hasty and believes that Poe is an ally. When Grissom leads them on a wild goose chase, Poe alerts them to where they are going. |

The 19th installment follows MI-6 Commander James Bond to a swiss bank in Bilbao, Spain where upon retrieval of three million pounds (British dollars) a siege takes place. James barely escapes the local police, leaving them questioning the mysterious shooting that occurred minutes ago. The next day, at the MI-6 Headquarters in London, Bond first greet Miss Moneypenny and gives her a nice souvenir: a cigar. Q then calls him in first to meet Sir Robert King then to report on the mission. It was then that the three million pounds was in fact, a bomb which destroys the Headquarters and kills King. Bond's only suspect, who happens to be the woman from the swiss bank blows herself up form a hot-air balloon. He then meets Sir King's daughter, Electra, who now own her father's oil company. But Bond's real mission has a new enemy named Renard a man who feels no pain whatsoever after a bullet was put into his head, who along with Electra and their henchmen plan to nuke Europe and everything in it's path. Now with the help of Christmas Jones, a research scientist, James must foil the terrorists plan before the entire Easternmost countries are wiped out forever. The world is not enough for disasters. Rannulph Junnah is the best golfer in Savannah. He's living well and has a girl, Adele Invergordon, who's the daughter of a wealthy landowner. The First World War starts, though, and Junnah goes to Europe to fight. The only survivor of a dangerous mission, Junnah doesn't return to Savannah for 15 years. In 1930, he returns, and Adele's father has already committed suicide during the Depression. Pressured by tax collectors to sell the golf course her father built to pay off debts, Adele, now older, vows to bring to Savannah the greatest match ever played on the greatest golf course, her late father's. She's able to round up the 2 greatest golfers of their time, Bobby Jones and Walter Hagen to play for $10,000. The townspeople insist on having "one of their own" compete also, and Rannulph Junnah is rounded up. Junnah now hangs out with bums and is an alcoholic, as he has lost his authentic swing from 15 years ago. At first he turns down the offer. He gets his old clubs and balls and starts practicing. He has lost his ability. Suddenly, Bagger Vance shows up. He offers to be Junnahs's caddy and help him regain his "authentic swing". He does, and Junnah agrees to play in the big match. |
