Set, of course, in the grimiest, toughest city in the world - Las Vegas, this drama by Robert Rodriguez follows a tough guy Marv (Mickey Rourke), who meets the girl of his dreams, Goldie, only to see her murdered on that same night. Marv then searches every bar and shady hide-out in Vegas looking for the killer. Sin City is a series of stories of vengeance and redemption, set in this hellish abyss of crime in the company of strip-dancers, cops and hitmans. The film incorporates storylines from three of Frank Miller's graphic novels. Quentin Tarantino was brought in and reportedly paid one dollar to direct an extended scene between Del Toro and Owen that amounts to one issue of The Big Fat Kill miniseries. |

Nicholas Garrigan (James McAvoy), a young idealistic Scottish doctor, wants to escape from the bourgeois life of his parents and thus volunteers to work in a remote Ugandan village. His arrival is coincident with the beginning of Idi Amin's (Forest Whitaker) reign. The new leader unexpectedly offers Garrigan the position of his personal physician, and, enamored by the president's magnanimity and charisma, the doctor accepts a tempting offer. Nicholas soon catches himself being his advisor on all matters, from architecture to foreign affairs. At first he feels proud to be given the honor of being Amin's closest confidante but then becomes appalled by the tyrant's savagery and murderous insanity. Moreover, he realizes that he is abetting Amin. Eventually, Garrigan has to put out considerable effort in order to avoid falling victim to the barbaric dictator and escape Uganda alive. |

Richard and Susan are a couple from San Diego, California who are vacationing in Morocco while their two children are at home with their Mexican housekeeper, Amelia. A rifle finds its way into the hands of a local herdsman's young sons, who recklessly take a shot at a tour bus and hit Susan in the shoulder, causing her severe injury. The distraught Richard calls home to tell Amelia of the situation, who shortly departs for Mexico to attend her son's wedding, with Richard and Susan's children in tow. Disaster thus multiplies, with the situation in Morocco ascribed to terrorists in the media, while Amelia meets with trouble at the Mexican border when she attempts to return to San Diego with Richard and Susan's children. Meanwhile, in Tokyo, a widower tied to the rifle in question, a complex shift of ownership to which the audience is privy, attempts to deal with the memories of his recently deceased wife and his strained relationship with his deaf teenage daughter. |

The movie Kids is a view of a city kids world. You watch Telly, a unsupervised teen in the streets of New York taking advantage of innocent young girls not knowing he has HIV but one of the girls he slept with a year before does. In knowing this she runs the streets looking for him while he plans to deflower another young girl. And in the midst of all this, you see kids as young as 10 or 11 using drugs and alcohol with some of the older kids. Kids is basically a movie that warns you what the hell could be happening to your very own child. |

The paranoid thriller centers on Walter Sparrow (Jim Carrey), an average man who has dearly loved wife Agatha (Virginia Madsen) and teenage son Robin (Logan Lerman) and works as a dog-catcher. His perfectly ordered life starts to unravel when he gets a red-covered detective book, The Number 23, for his birthday. Walter becomes absorbed in reading the novel, and the deeper he gets into the plot, the more convinced he is that the book bears similarities to his own life. The only difference between the book and Walter’s life is that the story doesn’t have a happy ending. Walter suspects the murder to take place in reality and becomes obsessed with the idea of uncovering a mystery that drives him mad.

Eli Roth's horror movie goes straight for the jugular in this unrelenting scare-fest about a pair of libidinous American fellows seeking for cheap pleasures in the European countryside. Their carefree college days close behind and Paxton (Jay Hernandez) and Josh (Derek Richardson) strap on their backpacks and prepare for get some booze, babes, and drugs, on their way across the globe. In Amsterdam they meet up with an Icelandic backpacker Oli (Eythor Gudjonsson). Backpacking across Europe guys are lured to a Slovakian hostel, where they uncover grisly and sinister acts taking place. The point is that the Slovakian city they stopped at has its male population dwindled as a result of a civil strife - leaving the ladies ready and willing to accept any male companionship that might turn up at the local hostel. Everything seems fine until the fellows find themselves caught up in a sick murder-for-profit business where businessman pay to kill innocent victims. |
