Set in 2035, the futuristic science fiction movie revolves around convict James Cole (Bruce Willis) who volunteers to make a perilous trip back into the past. He is sent back to the year 1996 to help scientists to find the origins of a lethal virus that has killed 99% of the human population and has forced the survivors to live beneath the surface of the planet. Thus, the animals begin to dominate the world once again. Unfortunately for Cole, he finds himself mistakenly sent to 1990 and locked up in a mental asylum by Dr. Kathryn Railly(Madeleine Stowe) who considers him to be insane. While struggling to convince the psychiatrist that he is not crazy, he forms a bond with Jeffrey Goines (Brad Pitt), the mad son of a famous virus expert (Christopher Plummer), and tries to unravel the mystery of the epidemic. |

Ted Striker just got dumped by his long-time girlfriend Elaine Dickinson, who works as a stewardess at Trans American Airlines. Kaufman is struggling with the arduous task of adapting The Orchid Thief, by Susan Orlean, which doesn't have an obvious dramatic line (it is essentially a book about orchids). At the same time he faces a mid-life crisis, which is worsened by the presence of his twin brother Donald, a less talented but more joyous person than Charlie, who dreams of making a lot of money with screenplays. The movie also shows Susan Orlean as she does her research for the book, and John Laroche, a colorful orchid hunter whom Susan interviews and, later, falls in love with. These stories eventually intertwine, with unpredictable results. |

Nicholas Garrigan (James McAvoy), a young idealistic Scottish doctor, wants to escape from the bourgeois life of his parents and thus volunteers to work in a remote Ugandan village. At first he feels proud to be given the honor of being Amin's closest confidante but then becomes appalled by the tyrant's savagery and murderous insanity. Moreover, he realizes that he is abetting Amin. Eventually, Garrigan has to put out considerable effort in order to avoid falling victim to the barbaric dictator and escape Uganda alive. |

David Mann ('Dennis Weaver (I)' (qv)) is just a regular family man on a business trip. Unfortunately, things go from bad to worse when a huge gasoline truck in front of him forces him to drive slower than he wants. As the drive continues, Mann realizes that he's not dealing with just another road hog. Though he can never see the trucker's face, the driver proves to be psychopathic, starting to run Mann off the road and trick or force him into a number of deadly situations. As the horrific trip continues, Mann tries to lose the truck, but each time he thinks he's finally in the clear, the truck returns to terrify him more. Finally, the horrific conflict builds to a point where he realizes that running won't save him, and that he must take a stand and fight back against the insane trucker. |
