An anti-utopia/action by Kurt Wimmer presents the "perfect" world where any free-thinking as well as all the arts, books, emotions and everything related is forbidden being considered as a capital crime. This world is built as a conflict-free society after the devastating Third World War, the monocratic Father and the Tetragrammaton have established the dictatorship over the Libria, a futuristic city-state. Human emotions are suppressed by voluntary injections of the "prosium", a preparation which helps the System to control its citizens. John Preston (Christian Bale), a government special agent is also under the influence of this drug, but when he forget to take a doze, he accidentally hear the fragment of the Beethoven's Ninth Symphony seeing the sunrise and discover himself unable to be a pawn of the System anymore as his emotions awake. |

When 13-year-old Adriana (Paulina Gaitan) from a poor family in Mexico City is kidnapped by sex traffickers, her 17-year-old brother, Jorge (Cesar Ramos), determines to bring her back home. Jorge finds out that the girl was captured by a powerful international underground gangster network which earns millions on human trade. Veronica (Alicja Bachleda-Curus), a young Polish woman, another victim of the same criminal gang, is the only person who shares Adriana's sufferings in their captivity. Meantime, Jorge gets over all kind of difficulties in his attempt to follow his sister's abductors... The satirical comedy centers on famous Kazakh television personality Borat Sagdiyev (Sacha Baron Cohen) who is assigned by the Kazakh Ministry of Information to travel to the USA so as to make a documentary about this 'greatest country in the world'. While in the United States, he sees an episode of Baywatch on TV and instantly becomes infatuated with sexy Pamela Anderson. Borat feels an urge to get married to her and, without thinking twice, sets out on a quest for the most desirable woman on Earth. On the way to California, he carries on gathering footage for his documentary and has a great many adventures while interviewing and interacting with Americans.

Harvey Pekar (Paul Giamatti) leads an ordinary life in the city of Cleveland, working as a file clerk at the local VA hospital. Melvin Udall (Jack Nicholson), an eccentric, sarcastic writer, suffers from obsessive-compulsive disorder which shows itself in many different ways. For example, he avoids stepping on the crack in the sidewalk. Every time he wants to wash his hands, he takes a new bar of soap. Melvin brings a plastic spoon and fork in a hermetically sealed bag to the café where he eats every day. He generally hates people and the only person he befriends is Carol Connelly (Helen Hunt), a single-mother waitress. Melvin finally comes out of his shell when his neighbor, Simon Bishop (Greg Kinnear), ends up in hospital after being brutally beaten and left penniless by muggers. He is forced to look after Simon's dog that teaches him to be kind-hearted and devoted. |

On Halloween 1963, the small town of Haddonfield is shocked when six-year-old Michael Myers returns from trick-or-treating and for some unknown reason stabs his older sister to death with a big kitchen knife and is found by his parents staring into space with the bloody knife in his hand.
