Neal Oliver (James Marsden) is about to leave his intentions to earn a law degree for an art career; he meets an immortal supernatural being named One Wish Grant (Gary Oldman) who looks like an inveterate trickster and directs clarity-seeking Oliver right to the immense spaces of the non-existing Interstate 60. Oldman's eccentric character grants wishes to the people who deserved such benefit, and Neal takes a chance to find the girl whom he has seen in his dreams; she smiles from every billboard of the Interstate 60 roadside, the road where everything is possible as every wish could be easily fulfilled. Should one be afraid of his desires or this is the road to hell? |

Melvin Udall (Jack Nicholson), an eccentric, sarcastic writer, suffers from obsessive-compulsive disorder which shows itself in many different ways. For example, he avoids stepping on the crack in the sidewalk. Every time he wants to wash his hands, he takes a new bar of soap. Melvin brings a plastic spoon and fork in a hermetically sealed bag to the café where he eats every day. He generally hates people and the only person he befriends is Carol Connelly (Helen Hunt), a single-mother waitress. Melvin finally comes out of his shell when his neighbor, Simon Bishop (Greg Kinnear), ends up in hospital after being brutally beaten and left penniless by muggers. He is forced to look after Simon's dog that teaches him to be kind-hearted and devoted. |

Ricky Gervais is performing in the same genius style as he usually does in his shows, and he is talking not only about his own experience of fame, but on what other people do to gain it. His jokes this time vary from Autistic people to Big Brother, and also touch upon his career quite a bit. |

Carter exposes Will to a pirate copy of Rambo: First Blood and from that moment Will's mind is blown wide open and he's easily convinced to be the stuntman in Lee Carters' diabolical home movie. Will's imaginative little brain is not only given chance to flourish in the world of film making, but is also very handy when it comes to dreaming up elaborate schemes to keep his partnership with Lee Carter a secret from the Brethren community. Will and Carter's complete disregard for consequences and innocent ambition means that the process of making their film is a glorious rollercoaster that eventually leads to true friendship. They start to make a name for themselves at school as movie makers but when popularity descends on them in the form of the Pied Piper-esque French exchange student, Didier Revol, their unique friendship and their precious film are pushed, quite literally, to breaking point. |
