Hong Kong circa 1973. Lee, a member of a Shaolin Temple, is a master of the physical and spiritual disciplines of the martial arts, and is being visited by Braithwaite, a British law officer. Lee has been invited to a tri-annual martial arts tournament held on an island owned by Han, a reclusive billionaire who was once a member of the Temple but has now become a renegade. Braithwaite believes Han uses his tournaments as cover for narcotic and prostitution activities. Lee reluctantly agrees to enter the tournament, but his reluctance to confront Han disappears when a Shaolin monk reveals that during the previous staging of this tournament, he and Lee's sister were accosted by several toughs led by Han's personal bodyguard, an American named O'Hara. In the ensuing confrontation the monk cut a deep scar on O'Hara's face but Lee's sister ultimately perished, and at her gravesite Lee vowes revenge for her death. Also attending the tournament are two American martial arts experts, John Roper and Kelly Williams, who served together in Vietnam and took differing paths toward martial arts upon their discharge - Roper is on the run from Mafia gambling debt collectors, while Williams was accosted by two racist cops whom he'd dispatched before stealing their car to escape. All three will soon find themselves at the mercy of Han and his army of martial arts fighters as he protects his underground factory of narcotics and prostitution. |

The ballistic missile submarine USS Montana sinks under mysterious circumstances. The doomed boat settles on a ledge several hundred feet deep and on the edge of an even deeper ocean abyss. US Navy SEALS are brought in to salvage the sub's missiles and an experimental civilian deep water oil-drilling rig is commandeered to help. All goes well until the SEAL leader suffers from high pressure madness and the rig is visited by the "Non-Terrestrial Intelligence" that apparently lives in the abyss. The ensuing struggle results in a race against time to prevent World War III and a reunion between the estranged couple that designed and operate the oil rig. |

Vianne is immediately met with bitter censure and resistance. But, vivacious and persistent, she doesn't lose heart and continues to work her magic giving love and comfort to those around her. It's no wonder that the locals are gradually won-over by this cordial, responsive woman and her delectable chocolates.

After a frightening escape from death at the hands of Chinese gangster Lao Che in Shanghai, Indiana Jones & 2 companions, Short Round (Quan) and Willie Scott (Capshaw) board a freight plane to escape. Over the Himalayas, the pilots dump the fuel, and Indy discovers they are in serious trouble when the plane's engines start to stall. Parachuting out of the plane in a life raft, they survive a 300-foot fall into a raging mountain river and its rapids. Indy's mastery of their language helps him learn that a sacred stone was taken by some strange men, which caused all the problems facing the villagers now. Short Round & Indy figure out that the missing stone is one of the Sankara stones, which are supposed to have a magical effect on whomever possesses them. The shaman sends them on a mission to Pankot Palace, which once housed the Thuggee cult. After a series of near-death encounters, Indy & the others discover the Temple of Doom, where the human sacrifices to Kali - the Thuggee goddess of death - are carried out, as well as a mine that has enslaved the children of the Shaman's village. Indy must get the stone back and free the children from the Thuggees and their psychopathic high priest, Mola Ram (Puri). What follows are several spectacular fights, a frightening chase through a mine shaft in tiny mine cars, and a bridge collapse 100 feet above a river filled with crocodiles! Hang on - and enjoy! |

This is a remake of the Japan version of "The Ring", which still is a cornerstone of the contemporary horror. A journalist woman named Rachel Keller (Naomi Watts) gets to know that her niece and the friends of the girl have died instantly and inexplicably when they checked a room in a distant motel, during their vacation. Rachel has a son Aidan (David Dorfman), she figures out that a mysterious video tape is involved in this story; these who are dead now, have watched it. Among other things, she resembles some ominous strangeness browsing photos of her dead niece's friends: their faces are uncommonly changed. And having seen the tape which initially seemed an amateurish film peculiar with an unskillful cutting, she realizes that something evil and nightmarishly unavoidable has begun looming over her and her son. Soon after watching the tape containing these various, inexplicably sinister frames she hears her phone ringing, and picks up a receiver only to hear how many days remained for her to live. Now her life is a race against the time, she is to know something about the tape and the horrifying story that lays hidden behind the dust of the past decades, spotting some things around her, the things she have seen watching the cursed cutting. A masterpiece of Gore Verbinski as a director and Naomi Watts as an actress is a prominent remake between the ones of the same genre. |

The Persian Gulf War comes to an end and the United States triumph over a defeated enemy. Hundreds of Iraqi officers and soldiers surrender themselves cradling leaflets promising food and drink, home and kind treatment. Sergeant First Class Troy Barlow (Mark Wahlberg) and Private First Class Conrad Vig (Spike Jonze) are charged to disarm, strip naked and search the surrendering Iraqi. They are lucky to have found an important document on a resisting Iraqi officer. The document proves to be a map that discloses the location of Saddam Hussein's caches of gold confiscated from Kuwait. Troy and Conrad arrive at a decision not to report their commanding officers, except their pal, Staff Sergeant Chief Elgin (Ice Cube). However, the rumors of the secret map reach the ears of Major Archie Gates (George Clooney), and the four soldiers come up with a selfish plan to abstract the treasure from the bunkers.

In doing so, he creates his famous work, "In Cold Blood," but he has to pay too big a price for his success. |
