Peter (Bettany) is a typical loser and his private life is slack as well as his tennis career. By some unknown chance, this wannabe staying at the very end of the world tennis rating becomes a participant of the prestige Wimbledon tournament. That's where he meet Lizzy Bradbury (Dunst) who is a star of american tennis, and soon he falls for her. Inbspired by the new-found love and new-found mastership on the grass of the prestigious tennis court, Peter's position at the tournament score goes higher and higher. Five unshaven men come to their senses in a dusty warehouse. One (Joe Pantoliano) is bound to a chair, while another (Greg Kinnear) is lying on the floor with a broken nose. The third (Jeremy Sisto) is handcuffed to a pipe and dying from a gunshot injury. A man in a jean jacket (Jim Caviezel) and a man in a rancher shirt (Barry Pepper) are roughed up but alive. A broken cellular phone, a spade and a gun are kicking about on the floor. No one remembers who they are and what they are doing there. After the thorough examination of the captive pygmies, Dodd comes to the conclusion that they are absolute equals with human beings, and attempts to do all in his power to free the couple despite the fact his actions can cost him his life. |
